I've got a Dodgezilla along with the other mods in my signature and I like it. I do tow and it seems to work well and so far I am happy. (Have to keep the TST on the lower settings when towing or heat does become an issue). When not towing with the TST on 4 or above it makes 40lbs boost very quickly. That said I put it and the TST on in the fall so the weather is cooler now and I live close to the coast so altitude is not an issue. A real test would be going to the Sierras in warmer weather.

Good luck in your research.

McDowra sells the Dodgezilla, so don't take his word for it.

Take mine, instead -- it's no problem. Just finished a 2500 mile trip with a 30 foot trailer, down to sea level and up over the passes in Colorado. I'm running a 14cm2 exhaust housing, and the the DZ worked well. Good boost, little lag, EGT's rose quickly but remained below 900*F at cruise and hills, and topped off in the 1100's on high grades, and very quickly cooled off. I don't let the boost get above 35 psi, BTW, but the DZ will go significantly higher.

There are some running over 500hp with the DZ. It won't last long at that level, though.

I would say keep it in the low 40s for boost and it will live for a long time.

What size of exhaust housing you do run on your truck?

gandrews - How much you towing? I'm looking at the EDM2s w/Edge Comp and would be in the same hp range your in but I tow/haul a max of about 5k. If this would get me by with no EGT issues I'm seriously considering the DZ.

I'm running the htt stage 3 which is probably the same as the dz. With a ez and dd2's, straight pipe and bhaf, ex. temps. could get over 1200 grossing 24000 lb. but a real good towing combo. Went to edm 2.5's for future mods. and now have to watch ex. temps. real close when towing. Just towing 5xxx shouldn't be a problem except maybe in hot weather. I completely unhooked my pm3 for now as it is no good for anything but cooking without alot more air! Running emty truck runs really good. The turbo mod. in my opion is one of the best mods I've made.

Did Dodgezilla turbo come with silencer ring installed or could be possible to add silencer on it ? Or how noisy they are, if they don't come with silencer ring ? Just don't looking for more noise .

I just installed my dz on friday, when up from the PDR35. This turbo rocks, but it is louder than the PDR35.

But the performance difference is night and day, I'm not sure if I will ever be able to this this dz to bark, its awesome

and yes there is an option for the silencer ring but I've heard it does not help that much .

Its not really loud just more noticable

Bob,
Are you running the same housing on the DZ as you were on the PDR.

What have you noticed that is different?
Is the top end better"
How does spoolup compare between the two?
Are EGT's about the same?

Thanks

Rhino, I am running Banks 14cm wastegated housing same housing was on the PDR35

by powerbraking we were about to get boost going at 1100 RPM

Both turbos spool up very well on the bottom end but the dz really shines in the mid and upper rpm range.

Egt's are about 50 -75 degrees less while cruising at 70 MPH

Its been to wet out here to really get on it for ant exteded periods. But topend is outta sight

Thanks for the quick reply. I was guessing the DZ would shine a little better on the top end. I'm thinking if I do not got to a larger charger (which would allow me to add more fueling ) I might give the DZ a try. Decisions, decisions

I've got a DZ, it shines on both ends. Gives more noticeably on top, however. Extended map. Big intake horn on the compressor side, nicely set up for funneling & straightening.

Hit 1300*F a few times towing, but if you let off very slightly, temp drops like a rock. Good towing turbo, my experience is like Tartarus.
