Dissapearing Coolant

Sometime in the past month I have developed a coolant leak. The tricky thing about it is there are NO signs of a leak anywhere .No puddles, drips, water in oil, oil in water, etc. I can top my radiator off and in a week it will be DRY, to the point of my heater not working >. Wondering if maybe my head studs have streched a little and some how a water jacket is exposed to a hot surface and the coolant is evaporating ???
Whats going on here? anyone run into anything similar? Please help, Im very tired of filling my radiator up every other day and I'm concerned about possible damage ocurring :-.
Thanks,
Scott

dsljunkie;
My guess would be internal, leaking head gasket.

Re:Dissapearing Coolant

Take your truck to a shop and have coolant system presure check done, a radiator shop probably won't charge you for that. I pretty sure the test will show a fluctuation in presure if the head gasket is leaking internally. Since there's no vacume in the cyl. you should see the presure spiking if there's a internal leak. Good luck

Check your coolant bootle Scotty Told me his coolant leaks was pushing the fluid out of the over flow bottle.

Re:Dissapearing Coolant

Fix it fast! Whatever it is. Read about Haulin in Dixie's problems in the HELP! section. He scored a cylinder from supposed lack of cooling on #1 cylinder due to low coolant level under load.

Diesels run hot, especially the #1 cylinder in our blocks. They need all the cooling help they can get.

Is it possible for my fire rings to be leaking? If so than I think I ought to re torque my head studs.

Did he fix this, and how did he figure that out? What would I be looking for? an empty over flow bottle or a full one?
Thanks for the replies guys.

Re:Dissapearing Coolant

Whomever did the fire-ring work should be contacted for the solution.

I checked out an engine that was drinking coolant for a few weeks last winter from a leaking head gasket. The number 6 piston was roached and the block was not repairable. The victim bought a new engine. It was like taking the water injection technology a bit a too far. LOL

Now I am very scared :'( :'( :'( :'(.
I searched for any signs of a leak earlier today and I noticed what looked like calcium build up on a shower head, only it was around a few of my head stud nuts. I guess this is where water is escaping and evaporating on contact with the hot block ??? Could this be as simple as me needing to re-torque my head studs? Or is it more complicated than that?
Dang you Don, and your scary stories > . But seriously, am I in danger of damaging my block here? I mean should I shut er down till I figure it out or what?
Thanks again,
Scott
