But the FP gauge now reads 0. doesn't even budge. I haven't had time to look at it.
They fail?
was the pressure bouncing up and down or how was it acting up? sounds like the LP is heading south or the isolator bit the dust. how do you know there is plenty of juice at the schrader?

i did mean the isolator failing. whether its the diesel they dont like, the pulses coming from the LP and/or IP, or something else...i really dont know. from reading on this site, the isolators seem to give many members headaches. but at the same time, others have good luck with them.

i dont want to deal with them and am not concerned with diesel entering the cab...but thats the gamble i am taking.

I have DiPricol guages and love them.

I think many of the reported "failures" result from a very small leak in the line between the isolator and the gauge. When this occurs, there is no pressure in the line to the guage even though there is pressure to the issolator. The diaphram is loaded, but can't pressurize the secondary line because the fluid is low. This can be fixed by opening the secondary line to allow the pressure to equalize, refill with antifreeze and tighten the connections so they don't leak.

When I first installed the FP gauge, it immediately pointed to a LP problem. I rarely got above 7 psi and it dropped to 0 at first crack of the throttle. Replacing the LP pushed my fuel pressure up to around 14 at idle and between 8 and 10 at WOT. Then, once last summer, I ran my tank down quite far, father than I should have for sure. My FP started to suffer from there according to the gauge. I checked the FP on the inlet to the filter/separator and was getting 15 psi. Changed the filter as I assumed when I drank the tank down, I got some goo in it. Bled the system per instructions but my FP gauge never really recovered. It would show 5 or 6 and never move. Tried bleeding again and eventually got it to drop to 0 where it has stayed ever since.
