Diffrence in Boost Fittings (lost Post)

My Friend has a 24v, he bought a boost fitting that says it for a 12v. I dont know to much about a 24v there not my cup of tea but i figured they would interchange. As long as the threads are the same. PDR sells a 12 and 24 v model. I just wanted to ask, before i went to put it in for him.
thanks

As far as i know it will work, but you will need a boost fooler if it sets an overboost code.

On my 12 Valve I had a 1/8 NPT for the manifold. On my 24 Valve, I went in at the plug by the fuel filter on the back part of the intake manifold and it was either a 1/4 or 1/2 npt. I had to step it down to a 1/8 nipple to make it work. I just can't remember the sizes. I took the big plug to the hardware store and purchased the adapters I needed to step it down. Sorry.

A P0234 or P0236 are over boost codes. A P0106, P0107, P0237, and P0238 are map sensor codes according to my cd rom for 2001.

This is absolutely correct.

Alan_Reagan,
What you are talking about is where you are hooking your boost gauge up to.

What he wants to know if the boost elbow, (Which tecnicly, blocks the WG) is interchangeable from 12V to 24V, and yes it is.
It's interchangeable from '94 to early '04's

A Check Engine light is usually set when overboosting. The ECM Also defuels before a light is set once 20PSI is exceeded.
On paper,, 22 PSI is making Less power than 20PSI.

Wink

$10-$11 for a boost elbow,, and ~$30- for an adjustable boost elbow.

three washers behind the wastgate to shim it out will get you about 25 psi, The wast won't open fulling but will open plenty to dump the exhaust from creating overboost problem. I have two washer's (don't know how thick they are) and get 22 psi. I'm just waiting for the for boost code's to show up now.
