Delivery Valves

Hi guys. Im hopefully getting an aftermarket billet covered torque converter sometime soon. I would like to have about 50 more HP out of my truck, and i think delivery valves might be the answer. My tranny should hold it just fine with the new converter, and i think injectors are a little more than i need right now, and i would like to still have reasonable EGT's since i pull some. TST says that with delivery valves added to a stock 160hp truck(like mine, except mines modded a little) that they will add about 60hp. Do you guys think this sounds about right, and will it still make at least 50 more HP with the mods i already have(fuel plate, and 3kGSK) giving me about 300hp total? I would like a little more go even though it already runs pretty good. Instead of bieng able to just barley out run most things, id like to be able to do it a little easier . Also, i know there are different size Delivery Valves. What size should i get, and why, and what sizes are there available? Did your delivery valves help your truck out much? Would they be a good upgrade for the Money for me? Also, how hard are they to put in, and does anyone have any online links you could show me that tells/shows how to install them? Ill be putting them in myself if i get them, but i think i can handle it fairly easily. Also, did it raise your EGT's much when you installed yours, and if anyone has any before, and after dyno numbers after you installed the DV's, please share how much you gained. Thanks

Eric

Contact JR Adkins for the best price on delivery valves.

(I keep all that info on a post-it note on my comp monitor for occasions like this! )

Aaron (Dodgeman01) claims he got 90HP out of his ADP laser cut DV's.....I think that claim is a little high, but you should see about 60 or more in a 160 pump according to JR.

What kind of difference will i see in EGT's? Right now it will hit about 1300 at about 70mph, and pretty much stay there. Will they be much worse with the D.V.'s in? I hope not, because i like to mash it to the matt, and not have to wory a lot about it, but im sure theyll be a little hotter at least. Thanks

OH YEAH! EGT's will be HOT! if your already seeing 1300 @ WOT.

Aaron (Dodgeman01) towed his dad's reg cab 4x4 2500 down to the Falmouth, KY Round Up on their 35FT gooseneck.

I kept wondering why Aaron was running so slow why following him once we hit the hills in KY. He told me when we got there he looked over at one point going up one of the first hills and the EGT was @ 1500*!!!!

At one point he went to 3rd gear (5spd) going up a hill just trying to keep EGT's down!

Keep in mind this is also with PDR 370 injectors, and a #10 plate centered, on a stock WH1C with a 18.5cm non-wastegated housing.......I'd hate to see what those EGT's would be like with a factory 12CM though!!

Are you running the stock injectors? With your fuel plate and 3k kit you may want to look at 215hp injectors instead of the delivery valves

191 dv's made a huge difference on my truck, but look out - with a stock 12cm turbo egt's get hot VERY quickly. I have to keep an eye on my guage. If you are looking at a "floor it and forget it" mod, this is not it. I still think they are worth it, though. It turned my truck into a monster on the bottom end. If I try to launch in 2WD with 10 psi of boost it will blow the wheels clean off and at 5 psi you better have some sticky pavement to even have a chance for a decent launch. The dv's made the truck easily keep up with a couple 5.0's for the first 300-400' - then they would pull away from me - but these 'stangs were not stock either. Don't get me wrong, if they were on a sticky tire they would probably kill me but then my truck on a sticky tire would probably launch pretty hard too. Ok, I'm getting off track here My point: awesome mod for a 160 pump but 191 dv's and a #10 plate will send egt's through the roof with a stock turbo if you are not careful.

Thats not exactly what i wanted to hear. Maybe i need to just throw the torque converter in it, and get it to run the bst it will with a plate so i can still pull good, and leave it alone . Id love to have the extra power, but i love lettin it eat with a load too, and i know that wont happen with those probably. What would 215 injectors do to my EGT's? Id like to stay with the stock turbo. Can i put a different housing on my turbo. I believe i ahve the WH1C. Thanks

3rd Year Tobacco Primer, Pick up Horse **** on weekends through the year, alot of oddjobs such as spliting wood and plowing snow. Thats where I get my money for the truck, but she aint totally paid off yet. Thats why I cant get all these mods for the pickup yet. And hey, how much $$ did you guys put through your muscle cars back in the day?

L/C stands for long

With a real pump and injectors you will put the the fire out using L/C's.
