DDII's or 275's for towing?

As you can see I have an EZ and I love it but when I'm towing a heavy load (around 10,000 lb) I dont have the pull I would like to have on the top of the power curve for hills. I heard that injectors would help this. I was told that 275's help more on low end and DDII's help more on the top. Does anyone have this combination or any opinion on what I might want to do to get what I'm looking for. I'm not ready for a clutch change so huge power mods are not what I want. Someday.

Either injector will give you a little more bottom end kick, and a little more grunt for the hills. The EZ and 2's will put you over what your factory clutch is capable of handling though.

I wouldn't be at all scared recommending the EZ and 275s. I've got a pile of this combo out on the roads right now, towing over 15K. Cheap, effective horsepower that won't tear the truck up. About the only add-on that I recommend for this combo is some high flow bolts to help ease stress on the lift pump.

Rod

I went backwards and added the injectors first and then the edge box. The DD2 injectors gave a great amount of power after 2000rpm's. The low end suffered. I then added the comp without wire and the low end was unbelievable. I hooked up the wire and it screams. I have slipped the stock clutch only once. All depends on how you drive. I have towed many times around 9000 lbs and it still holds. With just the ez and dd2's you should be fine and later on you will be upset that you didnt opt for the bigger injectors. My temps have never given me a problem while towing and I live in the mtns. I would say the 2's. My .02 cents worth.

I tow a 10k dump trailer. I had 275's and they were good. I have BD 2's and they are better. The gassers do a double take when I pass them going uphill with the trailer. ;D
Tim

Re:DDII's or 275's for towing?

I'm part of that "pile" that Rod spoke of. ;D (pile of what though ) ANYWAY-
I started with 275's then added the Ez. I have since sold the Ez and now run a TST Pmax 3.
Personally- I don't think the 275's add much. Since you don't want to upgrade your clutch, then you are very limited to how much power you can throw at it.
If I had to make a choice of an EZ with 275's or run my TST box alone- I would choose the box. It's adjustable and is capable of much more power than the EZ and 275's will yield you. So, my opinion, sell the ez and use the money you were going to spend on the injectors to get an adjustable box. I think you would be happier...

2's - looks as tho you are proceeding down the slippery path already so may as well do it right. SBC would be your very next order of business and probably will be anyhow regardless of which injectors, then 2's. Don't look back.

Re:DDII's or 275's for towing?

Thanks for the input. The only reason I have been leaning towards the DDII's is because I would like to have them already in when I decide to go with a new clutch and some more mods. Like many of you said, I dont want to have to spend more money to do what I was going to eventualy do anyway. Plus I feel that I treat my clutch very well. Thanks again.
