8) 8)

These are fun! I have to say that I am very pleased at the power/smoke ratio. I was going to go with 3's but after thinking about it more and getting recommendations, I decided that the 2s would be more for me.

IMHO, anything beyond stage 2 for an extrude-honed injector starts to lose efficiency, and an EDM injector should be used if you seek more than 75-90 hp from injectors.

The power increase is definitely noticeable, but not mind-blowing. It feels more like the truck lost about 1500 pounds than it feels like a power increase. Maybe if I took that engine out of my bed, it would be faster? ??? ???

There is VERY little smoke with the DD2s and an EZ-- very easy to control it. With a Comp or DDUFM or something that had a defuel mode, smoke would be gone entirely, I suspect.

It's a nice mild upgrade. I still have stock clutch, stock exhaust, and stock intake, yet I have no EGT problems or clutch problems. I can break 800 post turbo, but just barely, and no higher. Boost maxes at 31-32 psi. Fuel pressure won't go below 7psi, which is the same as stock injectors behaved with the ez on 3. I now set the ez on 1 to delay fueling. The injectors more than make up for it.

Do all these numbers sound about right? I was told my clutch wouldn't hold. It is. Most guys with EZ and 2s dyno right around 350 RWHP. I am there? I was told that EGT would be near the limit. Yet, I am dong just fine on EGT. Is the 31-32 psi about right for boost?

This is just a temporary stage, since long-term, I am headed for EDM4s/race wire-tap box, etc. I have to get the truck ready to handle that though via clutch, exhaust, and air.

TIA for responses.

HOHN

Your clutch will hold...for a little while.
Mine held fine with DD 3's ...for a little while.

I went to the 3's with the same concerns you had and in my case, never regretted it either. Very streetable and towing is just fine too. I was concerned with the towing at first but all was well.
Since then there has been a few more things added to the truck. ;D Running with the 24ft trailer loaded up feels just like my truck did stock now.

Enjoy

I'd watch those EGT's. On my truck, at WOT there is almost a 500* difference between pre and post turbo. And that's with the Comp acting as an EZ and a BHAF and 4" straight pipe.
