hey guys working on a haul truck today takeing off tires and they were foam filled so we were using this taylor forklift probably a 30,000 LB truck and every time the operatr steemed on it and got out of it made that distinctive whistle so got done working and opend the engine compartment and wut i saw puzzled me it was 12v with a vp44 injection pump on it has any one else seen heavy equiment with this setup?

 

Yup! Our Kalmar (Swedish forklift) has a 12V with the VP44, made me raise an eyebrow at first too. Nothing like having it 3rd gear to the boards across the yard hahaha.

 

yupp we have a 30,000-ish lbs Kalmar as well........same engine.

 

Pretty sure a Case Excavator the local dump uses was, I know it was Cummins powered (they did help develop the B series...)

 

Yep! I work for a Yale Dealer and we have them in our Larger Lifts. The 5.9 is a very versatile engine and it will be used for years to come. Even our brand new Large Lift Trucks are being produced with the 5.9 in them!

 

the model of the forklift was a taylor TH-350 u would think something of that size they would put in a 8.3 liter. i work on construction equiment and the 5.9 is in everything pretty cool.
