I have here a Toyota forklift with a 4Y engine. Does anybody here know where I can find a replacement (rebuild or used, running) engine? I thought it was a 22R which is easy to find as it is a pickup engine, but the 4Y is being a challenge. Forklift companies want lots of $$$ for a rebuild.....

After further searching, here is some more data
the 4y is 2237 cc with a 91mm bore X 86 mm stroke
the 22R is 2366 cc with a 92mm bore X 89 mm stroke
As similar as the engines are, I dont see why you couldn't run a 22R in place of the 4Y. The only place I can see a hang up is with the transmission mount.
