Crew lights, cab lights, whatever there called
Crew lights, cab lights, whatever there called
Im am putting crew lights on the top of the cab. I plan on piggy backing them off of my running lights so they will be opereated with the headlight switch. Is this ok? I just ran accross something about the switch not being able to handle the load. True or false. thanks for the help guys
you gotta take the dash cover off. depending on what year truck you have it should be one screw and the rest of it is held on by clips. then the switch has 3 phillips head screws holding it on. take those off and it'll pull out a little bit.
Ok. this is turning in to an ordeal. Am i gona have to take the headliner off? and if I do how in the world do I do that. Im thinkin about using a glow rod and just fishing them through. Yall think that will work?
I'm lazy and just kinda bowed the headliner down but all the way out would be the best. The cab is double thick where the cab lights go, the second layer of sheet metal has a 1"ish hole where every light goes. With the headliner all the way out it makes it very easy to drill up from the inside through the center of the existing holes to locate your lights. Its a good starting point if you don't have a template from dodge or are running different lights.
I wired right to the switch but the lights are LED

If they're LED you're ok. You can use a relay by splicing into the back of the headlight switch:
