Re:Cost on a 3K Govner

Hi,
I actually just recieved my 3000gsk and installed it today. I picked it up from Piers for $150. It is actually a pretty simple instalL;remove the intake manifold, the fuel shut-off solenoid, the linkage, the big plug, and then the springs and shims, you then install the new springs and spring seats, and then reverse this proceedure, and VOILA!!! The toughest part of the whole thing is removing the shut-off solenoid bracket, due the bolt on the back of the injection pump. The pictures and the direction given by piers aren't the greatest but they help. The whole thing probably took me about 2 hours(but I was slack'in 8))
-chris

Just so no one is mislead, the kit wont keep you from runnin out of 'steam', without other mods. If 2250 is all you can pull out, that's all you got, it wont matter what your gov. at, right?

No 2250 is where I ran out of RPM's at, which the addition of the 3K Gov Kit and NO other mods I was able to run my RPM's to 3,000 when pulling a trailer which helped significantly.

What my last comment stated was that the additional mods I added at a later date assured I would not "run outta steam"

Re:Cost on a 3K Govner

especially with a stock automatic and a stock motor, you wont get much more acceleration with a gsk, however, you can pull the hills in 3rd gear and hold 65+ mph rather than the stock 55-62mph (depending on your truck model). one slightly modified the gsk makes a huge difference!

Tom
