This has only happened (twice) on a Dynojet because on the road I am usually accelerating through 60 and tranny shifts into OD later. I have to start dyno runs from 70 mph and up to prevent the downshift.
If it will happen on the dyno, I see no reason why it could not happen anywhere.

Having an aftermarket VB it may be setup to downshift.

If you search on this site somebody has made some gizmo that will deactivate the lockup switch while braking and feature control lamps for some dollars and some work. The schematics should be here. I think that a lockup switch is best used as a diagnostic tool to override the PCM while searching for the cause of erratic or no lockup. (To determine whether the problem is electrical from the PCM side or in the tranny itself)Everything else like using it for better acceleration etc means risking the some expensive transmission repairs.
