hi guys,tried eamiling edge and van akken with no luck,anyone know if stacking a older van akken box with a comp will give to much timing advance?the van akken only plugs into the pump.i have to admit i tried it already with the comp only on 3 and she just screams but i dont want to hurt anything.also cheked for codes and got none,in fact my old overboost code disapeared.any one have any sujestions?? thanx

 

I think you would hear the engine complain if you had too much timing. I don't know much about the VA boxes, but isn't the Comp adjustable using the sub-levels with regards to timing?

 

i think the subsettings only change the amount of fueling,not timming.maybe the main settings change timing.i only have the guts to try level3.she feels like more power than without the va and comp on 5[5.its been 2 days now and no codes and everything seems to sound ok.guess ill keep running her till somthing hapens.

 

Crank her up to 5x5. I did the yesterday and I wish I would have ordered my Con OFE sooner. 5x5 rocks and it doesn't look like it will be taken off that setting for a while. If your egts aren't too out of control with those 130 hp sprayers, then try 5x5. If you haven't shot your IP yet, then chances are you won't in the future.

How's that clutch hold though?

 

clutch so far seems ok,i take it easy on takeoffs,then when clutch is is engaged,let her rip.i have some fuel problems to deal with before i try level 5[5 with the van aaken box hooked up.fuel presure drops fast when im using both.im bugging b-d to give me a great deal on thier pump kit.seems wierd that my old overboost code has disapeaered with the 1693 companion code too.maybe the engine is happy with the timing.
