COMP Map sensor hook up??
COMP Map sensor hook up??
I was told that not hooking up the MAP sensor to the COMP would produce a lot of smoke... is that damaging to the truck in any way? what does the MAP sensor do? Thanks- A.Wall
dont unhook the map sensor that plugs into the comp, unhook it where the comp is suppost to hook up the the map sensor, all it does it trick the computer into thinkin your truck is at full boost thust delieverying FULL fuel at 0 boost.
The MAP sensor reads the pressure in the intake manifold (i.e. boost pressure). The reading from this sensor tells the computer how much fuel to add based on boost.
When adding the Comp, people have found that you can connect the Comp to the MAP harness, but leave it unplugged from the MAP sensor. By doing this, the Comp is reading full boost at all times, therefore fueling hard continuously. Adding this much fuel at low boost will produce a considerable amount of smoke.
