Automatic Starter

I want the most basic simple to install cheapest automatic starter there is. Looking for good quality for my money though. Where do I get one and how much is it gonna cost me. I don't have remote locks either. Plus it's getting cold up here.

I would also like the same thing, a remote starter. I think it would be best for the engine to warm a few minutes before the mad dash to work. Plus, instance heat when I get in the cab.

I've had this $70 model on my manual for six years and have installed three others, no problems. http://www.etronics.net/ult1256m.html also here for cheaper http://etronics.resultspage.com/elec...0start%201256m

It does everything I wanted it to do and more. Install is quite time consuming, mostly hunting though wire bundles for the correct wires. Even after doing a couple of them it took over eight hours.

The one I've got just waits till the wait to start light goes off. It's very simple, but it's got all the bells and whistles on it. Alarm, turbo timer, cold start timer (it'll turn it'self on every couple of hours for a set amount of time and run to keep warm) It's also an alarm, a 2 way pager and a really nice lookin little phone~!!!

Astro Start or Compu Start both make a good quality remote ,alarm, 2 way paging, etc, How much do you want to spend? When it get's installed make sure it's tied into the ribbon heater light.

Why you ask? I woke up the other day and it was 48 outside! I don’t think it is that cold but when the first front drops the temps down into the 70's most people bust out their jackets down here. Actually my truck already has the viper installed but the dealer disconnected the alarm when I bought it. I took it to the viper dealer because it was acting a little weird on me. I got all the kinks out of it now and it is pretty cool. I have the alarm, keyless entry, and remote start. I only paid 25 bucks to have the viper dealer rewire and hook up some stuff that was disconnected. It retails for 399 installed and was told it took 5 hours to install the remote start. All and all I am pretty happy and the remote start is just cool……….Jamie

I'm getting my Autopage RS-855 installed as I type this. It has all the bells and whistles like remote start, turbo timer, two-way pager with lcd screen, etc.

Well I got it installed today and its pretty neat. Wait to start is set manually to ten seconds. The only thing not neat is that it will crank even if it is in gear with the remote start. Another side effect is that I can now start the truck without the clutch when just using the key. And yes installing it this way is 100% illegal. Not sure why they were so eager to do it.
