Cold air intake or high flow filter?
I would like some advice on air intake. Should I get a cold air intake or just a K&N high flow filter? Would it be worth paying more for a cold air induction?

Suggest you stick with the "paper" P/Ns when giving BHAF numbers. That means the Donaldson, Wix, NAPA, Fleetguard, Baldwin etc filters are good.

Well I'm hunting down the BHAF in my area. I found the Carquest can get it for about $49.95 and Napa can do it for about $62.00
I'm going to be heading north sometime soon so I'll take a look up at Schucks in Lewiston, ID and see what they can do.
I'm going for the paper element for sure!
By the the time my truck gets to 100K miles I'll be ready to drop a VA box on her!

As long as your smart and follow the instructions I like the K&N. I run them on all 5 of my vehicles and would never change. Just dont EVER over oil them and there great.
Thats just my openion of course, and I'm sure its going to get beat to death.

I've got 40K miles on mine, 98% of that with the Outerwears prefilter, and it can easily go another 10K at least.

You can find BHAF's cheaper online than in most stores. I believe www.fleetfilter.com and www.filter1.com carry WIX BHAF's for a good price.
