Code/Scanner

Does anybody know of a good code/scanner, at a decent price, that can erase codes. I have done the key test but need to erase the codes too see if they come back, disconnecting the batteries didn't work for the hard codes PO217 and PO216 I don't need one that is difficult, just one to read codes and erase too see if they come back. Thanks

I have an Auto-Xray 4000. I think I paid less than 200. Its like an American Express card - I never leave home without it....

Go to any generic auto parts store. (Autozone, napa, advance auto, etc.) and they usually have them for under $100. Mine is an actron, gives code numbers (which you can clear as they come up) and also gives the inspection readiness test, egr/misfire etc. as far as complete or incomplete. I think I paid about 80 dollars.

If you are just looking to clear the codes, you can go to one of the above mentioned stores. Most of them have a scanner and will read and clear the codes for you.

My code reader is a locked up superchip flashpaq tuner that is not good for tuning but for $5 at a garage sale will read and clear codes. ED
