Talking

I have never removed the valve cover before and wondered if there is any thing special I need to do. I've already removed and started the intake.

Well what's your favorite paint remover? Sometimes I've used Acetone or regular paint remover, it just depends on what I have on hand at the time Sometimes sand paper and some elbow grease

got...DIESEL?

Your semi polished parts have a nice look to them too

P.S. Fummins you should add some engine pictures to your collection...

Thanks....

I just sandblasted mine, then ran a 2" coarse rolock over them to get rid of all the pitting and irregularities. Started with 80 grit and ended up with 180-220 (I cant remember now) wet or dry running the paper the same direction so that the finish had that brushed look. Then shot them with high temp clear, voila.

On removing paint I found a product at NAPA, it's paint remover in a rattle can worked good for me, still have to use some sandpaper and elbow grease to get it all removed, but it did remove the majority of paint from the parts I was cleaning up, and it is safe for aluminum.
