Torque management in the stock ECM wont let you power brake, but there are way of getting around it Here's my favorite

thats what i thought that the disk brakes just grabbed to good. but it does chirp them when i let off the brake. i raced this older ford diesel yesterday and i was probaly going about 45 when i WOT it and all it did was just rev up until i let off and tried again but a little softer. to me sounds like i slipped my converter so maybe that will come up pretty soon

I have the similiar truck to you (also rear disc) and it doesn't have any performance mods to it. (other than BHAF and exhaust). With my stock size wheels I was able to powerbrake but once I put 35 x 12.5" tires on it there is no chance to break them loose unless the ground is wet and then it's hard to keep traction.
This is probably real bad for the tranny but what I was doing was start powerbraking and let off the brake and slam back down on it quickly to get the truck to dive a little and take some weight off the rear wheels and they will break loose, once loose they will spin forever.....again, this is NOT a recommended procedure.
