94-2000 are all HX35's...but the later ones, I think in 99-00 had a smaller compressor wheel, with less blades/fins. A little more efficient

01-02 Sticks are still HX35, 01-02 Auto's are Hy35's...smaller exhaust housing for fast spool! Choke at 35psi!

A wastegate allows exhaust gas to go around the turbo wheel, so it doesn't "pickup speed!"

Basically, we can use smaller turbine housings to get better spool, then wastegate them to keep boost down to safer levels!

Makes sense??

I believe that hose your asking about is what is used to plug the wastegate, to spool the turbo quicker and build more boost.

Yes...but not without a box/Smarty/ boost fooler to tell the computer it's only "seeing" factory boost levels!

Perhaps Mike is asking about the waste gate actuator hose? (blue hose in picture)
If so, turbo pressure (cool air) passes from the turbo to the actuator (through the hose) and pushes down on a diaphram in the actuator to move the arm, which opens the waste gate at the desired pressure.

Yup! Mine is, but you need a box with a boost fooler.

Nope, stock, aftermarket, anything with a wastegate!
