I am running a Helix, but I have tried any others. I have been happy with it.

What kind of luck are you guys having with the reground cams holding up? I've heard horror storieds of them wiping out a lobe or something. I'd like to do a cam to mine eventually, but I want something that will be durable as well.

I wouldn't put a regrind in for longevity.

I'm running a Max spool 2.5

all of my trucks except 07 have maxspool cams, oil analysis reports have shown no excessive wear. and i reused tappets in my 1992, 15,000 and a oil analysis every oil change. besides the price is way less and you can get the bolt on gear and or a new custom blank call garrett shields at puredieselpower he knows alot about maxspool and greg hogue.

I like my Helix II but I think you would be pretty happy with most if not all of the bigger name cams. I doubt you would need a bolt on gear set-up unless you have no plans to go to a P-pump.

yes they are...but you can order new ones cut from a blank...but they are a LOT more $$

I am putting a Helix 2 in my truck....I have never seen any F1 cam failures but I have seen a few regrinds posted up with failures...I dont want to be taking my engine apart any more then I have to so I will pay for longevity.

I've had the Helix2 on my truck for a couple of years now and have been quite pleased with it.

I'm only considering a Helix 2 and none others.

If I ever have yank the head, I'm going in deep.
