Building a Stack set up dual 5"

Will dual 5" stacks be ok for a stocker? I am thinking about buying a 4" down pipe then a 4" T some straight pipe and 2 90* bends but what do i need to connect the down pipe to the T in the bed? I have been searching all morning and can't find the answer.

Also will this exhaust set up be ok on a stock 24v?

To connect to the tee in the bed you just need a short radius elbow and a short length of flex pipe to allow for frame flex and bed movement. Since the truck is stock you don't really need the big downpipe, just get a 3" to 4" reducer to adapt the stock exhaust to the elbow leading up to the stacks. For parts, try Airflow Systems.

I went to a single 5" stack when I was still stock -- The benefits were that it was louder, but I didn't see any EGT decrease over a 3" straight pipe. I made a 5" to 3" adapter by cutting a 4" to 5" adapter apart and welding it to a 3" pipe.

brandon.

Depends on how much noise you want. The straight pipe is very loud and sets up a drone in the cab at certain loads and speeds. My sons with the shorter stacks turned to the side is really really loud. The resonator would leave a good base rumble with the short stacks. I thought about making up a spool piece with my old resonator to put in for long trips. My flex pipe makes a 45 degree turn from the four inch down pipe over the a 90 degree short radius elbow that hooks directly to the Berubes splitter. The flex pipe is basically a psychological thing since the flex pipe becomes solid after about a year anyway.

where did you find a flex tube that will last? or is this somthing that needs replacing every few years?

2 5x48" stacks $90 Ebay
1 4" T pipe $67.09 http://www.berubes.com/
3 90* tight bends $75
1 4" flex tube $
1 4x40" pipe $30
1 4" down pipe $105 Optional
2 4-5" reducers $40 http://www.berubes.com/

thats my current part list...i think i am going to leave stock dp and just have the flex pipe go from after the stock resinator to keep dron down..

Flex pipe is pretty near worthless in my opinioon. In a year or two, it becomes non-flex anyway. I got mine from NAPA.

we must be talkin' about different stuff. Mine is like brand new... it's not like rubber hose by any means as far as flexibility, but it's still plenty flexible. Maybe if you live in the rust belt, it's a different story, but I've noticed no change in mine. Every big rig out there runs the stuff somewhere in their exhaust system... works great for me.

If you live in the rust belt, get the stainless flex pipe.
