Budget Puller
just checked all the rules you are alowed to use any axle you want as long as it came oem in a 1ton or smaller pickup. just never heard of anyone wanting to use anything than a dana60 and a dana80 unless they were going to rockwells. why are you wanting to put a ford differential in there?

High-pinion should be stronger as a front axle when pulling forward, no two-piece CAD axlehousing, real manual hubs, 35-spline shafts, and kingpins. That being said, for a budget puller in the street class, the stocker should be more than enough. You could probably sell the Ford 60 for $1k and put that toward power mods.

thats true but I have 4 60HP sitting in the barn and steering rockwells, just wanting a strong front, I have been toying with the idea, I don't know if I'll be budget, I just figure budget first lets you learn the sport then step up from there. Hope to see some track time next season.

What up with the GM truck, Mitch ??????

I thought you were all ready for the transplant..........
Ah, just general maintenance on the Chebby now. Doubt I'll ever be tired of a dmax.
The transplant is just about ready to start on the 83 and no, I won't be putting a cummins in it.
I was just reminiscing and wondered what was up with the old truck since I hadn't seen or heard about it on a pull track and knew that was the intended purpose of Chris' when he bought it. So I'm checkin in on it.
I'd take it back in a heartbeat (pun intended
) as a second truck/backup vehicle. It started everytime. Sometimes was a chore getting somewhere (death wobble, shot clutch, KDP dropped, etc.) but it fired every time and ran well with the miles on it. Had plenty of fun in it too. Would definitely welcome it back into the stable!
