if your wanting to run street stock you have to be under 4500rpm, have a full interior,no water check dhra for rules, if you pull in ohio you have to have a 2.5 inducer. super street you are alowed to run pretty much whatever you want, but then you will be in the same class as kyle michaels and curt haisley GOOD LUCK!!!

Is the street limit 2.5 or 2.8? I had thought the street limit was 2.5, the super street was 2.8, and twins automatically bumped you to mod class. However, I just downloaded the DHRA rules, and they say 2.8 inducer for street class. Twins with 3.0 or smaller atmosphere turbo, or any single turbo - for super street. Mod can have up to 3-stage systems.
Is this correct? 2.8 limit seems awful big for a 'street' class - most daily drivers won't stand a chance even in the smallest class now??

yeah 2.8 for street, but if you pull in ohio most likely it will be hosted by EEP and they have their own rules and only allow a 2.5 inducer.

Isn't kinda ironic to use the term 'budget' and 'puller' in the same sentence ??

Yet another reason I can't stand EEP. Err, I mean Dave Mitchell is God!!

there is nothing wrong with having a 2.5 wheel limit in the street class. It gets the trucks in the right classes. Besides you can still run a very large charger at 2.5

Yeah, JR did all the work on my '93 pump conversion - great guy to work with. I'll give you a call after I've got the truck. Interested to hear your ideas.

How's it coming along?

One of the least imprtant matters but one I know the answer to is the weight. I ran across the scales with just me and a small tool box and some misc. junk in the cab and it was right at 6900lbs. Maybe that can give oyu an idea of the weight.

Let me know how the budget works. I am wanting to get into pulling also, for next season and not really wanting to go overboard at first. But I haven't found anyone local yet to swap ideas with. Im a new kid in town. Atleast i have my pulling truck to start my mods 97 2500 ext cab 5spd 4x4. I am curious do you have to run stock axles in the street class, I have a nice dana 60 hp from a ford that would be great to run, since I have a spool for it and 35 spline axles. Hope pullings fun since I sold both my buggys to get into this sport.

Hey, thanks for the weight, Mitch. Just remembered I've still got to ship that stuff to you, too - I'll get it in the mail tomorrow!
The truck is coming along - it's at J.R.'s shop right now. Decided on an H2 turbo. Pump will put out as much fuel as we can get it to without swapping the cam or plungers/barrels, I think. Going with fire rings and 12mm studs. Found a used head that was already ringed, had a 3-angle valve job, titanium locks and retainers, and bigger springs, so we'll throw that on there. Stock cam for now. So far, I'm already about $750 over budget lol.
Lonewolf, for the street class, I believe the rule is that the axles have to have come stock in a one-ton or smaller pickup, regardless of brand. Using a Ford HP60 in a Dodge should be fine.

thanks Go 4Lo. I prefer a real front axle, and a Dynatrac upgrade is way to much money. I can run the Dana 60HP and not have as many problems in that area. Now to start modding the motor.
