Brand Spankin' New Huffer
Well, maybe not brand spankin' new, but I hadda get you to look, didn't I?
Anyway, we've almost finished up our first install of one of Kurt Yardley's new B1B SuperKwikSpools on a dealers truck, and thought we'd throw some pics up.

Re:Brand Spankin' New Huffer
Now onto the true meat:
The truck is an 02 ETC Auto 3/4 ton, with a DTT 93% converter, and valve body tuned for sled pulling. The power box is a TST PM3 Competition, and he's currently using DD2s, which will soon be gone in favor of some 125 HP EDMs. The Scotty is currently being run in HUSH mode without the cowl hole.
Very early results show us that apparently KwikChilliKurt is good for something other than scarfing tacos and calling 1-900 numbers.
With the 93% converter, our dealer feels that spoolup is every bit as fast as his HY35/9 that he replaced. This particular result impressed us the most. His midrange is outstanding (he can throw the truck sideways on the freeway), and the topend is what we've come to expect from a B1. Boost is currently set at 50 PSI, but we'll be dropping that a bit to see how EGTs respond. EGTs at level 9 on the TST Comp climb about the same as they used to on level 4. I haven't been able to convince him to turn the box down to get EGT results on level 4
Right now, he's seeing 1500F at WOT, but he hasn't had a chance to get out on the open road to see if EGTs start dropping like they normally do with a B1. Remember, these are very early results. Running the Scotty in pegleg mode isn't helping either, and unlike a certain Forum Owner, he's drilling the hole
As we get more info, I'll toss it up here...

Looks like a nice setup I was hoping that was an 04 as I just ordered mine ;D
[/quote]

Yup, its an external wastegate. We haven't had the chance to gather any numbers, but we think with that unit, and wasting out at 45 - 48 PSI, we'll be seeing near 1:1 drive pressure.

And don't worry, you'll be seeing one on an 03 very soon ;D It'll be a KwikSpool, versus the Super, as I need some additional cooling, but hookup will be identical.

Rod

The plastic also tends to get a little distorted in places, due to the molding process. Overall, I really like the clear units, but they don't have quite the finished look of the black or white units.

Rod

The B1 is available with a couple housing sizes, AND a couple wheel sizes, so its a little tough to determine. It would be comparable to a 10cm Holset housing, I think (Kurt, correct me if I'm wrong here), but capable of moving more exhaust.

Rod

Great information Rod. At what RPM does that turbo begin to spool?
One of the great things about the DTR is that a vendor can come here and give information like this without being flamed.
