Im waiting on a box from Kurt with this new divorced wastegate myself. We have been using the B1 with great results. After the 500HP mark fell on the baby ricer rocket dyno we are stuck with-it is now becoming important to get the gases outta the engine even more. <br>We cant seem to break the B-1. Yes, we try all the time. From generally acting like a kid on the backroads to running pull after pull on the dyno with large barks of pain coming from the turbo @ pedal lift.<br><br>The wastegate will just be an additional benefit. The turbine housings are a little different than what you guys are used to seeing. The B1 is available with a couple housing [sizes, AND a couple wheel sizes, so its a little tough to determine. It would be comparable to a 10cm Holset housing, I think (Kurt, correct me if I'm wrong here), but capable of moving more exhaust.

Well, at the risk of blowing KwikChilliGasKurt's already monumental ego right into the stratosphere, I'll throw some more numbers out:<br><br>First, I got the torque converter wrong. Its a 91% converter on the truck.<br><br>Now onto more meat:<br><br>1) Unlike a cowardly administrator in these parts, the cowl hole got drilled on the weekend. With the cowl hole open, EGTs will _not_ climb above 1300F for love nor money.<br><br>2) At a standing high idle (truck in park), the boost gauge will read 2 - 4 PSI at 2500 RPM. For comparison, a stock HY35 will read somewhere around 2 PSI at the same RPM.<br><br>Next phase is to mess with the wastegate a bit and see what we get...<br><br>Rod

Since this B-1 seems to running a smaller housing than most. What do you figure is the most boost you will be able to run without going out of it's efficiency map?
Just curious cause most guy's running 40's use bigger housings than what this B-1 has.

It appears as though the initial numbers that were delivered to me were in error. The dealer has been suitably whipped and we will be sending him a 'Learn your ABCs and 123s' as soon as possible. 
Pics are a little fuzzy, but its 8-9 PSI of boost at 3500 RPM while in neutral...


Stake, on the 2500 RPM thing, you're injectored a little heavier than this truck, so you'll probably build a little more boost than this truck did.

Drive pressures can be influenced by a smaller housing, hence the wasting. We;ll be playing with the truck over the next couple weeks to determine what the right boost level is for his setup.<br><br>Rod

Mine is in the port next to the map sensor. Which is suppose to read lower.

Line run into the manifold? I'd suspect something was up with those readings, as I don't think I've ever seen a truck throw boost at idle, except a set of twins that were very efficient.<br><br>Rod
