Boost port on 24V

Which port do you use for the boost gauge? Front of engine or rear of engine? Is it 3/4 NPT?

2002 - 24v

I found the ports behind the fuel filter canister. They look like they can be removed without removing the canister. Sound correct?

Thanks,

Tim

Sounds right there are two behind the filter cannister on is for boost and the other is a coolant galley. I think the one that lines up with the lift pump is the one for boost. Mine had red loctite or some type of sealant visible on it the coolant galley one did not.

I drilled and tapped a hole for the boost gauge fitting in the intake runner. If you do this be sure to keep the fitting flush with the inside of the housing.

Yes the port is at the back of the engine next to the mass sensor. Go to the hardware store and you can get the 3/4 in to 1/8 reducer. Just put the boost fitting in the reducer first then (I learned this the hard way) take out the 2 bolts holding the fuel filter canister to the intake manifold and gently move the whole filter housing down so you can reach the boost port with ease. The filter housing makes it really hard to get a socket or wrench on the boost port. Hope this helps.

Its the 3/4 in plug right next to the fuel filter canister housing towards the back of the engine. Thats why I said take off the filter housing with the two little bolts on top because it is so close its hard to get to with tools. Well its easy to remove the plug cause you can use a 1/2 in extention end but installing the reducer needs a socket.

OK. At the right of the fuel filter canister there is 4 visable ports right next to each other. Starting from the back of the engine you have the IAT sensor, then small port, then MAP sensor, then 3/4 in boost port. You might be able to reach the plug with out any trouble. Hope this helps.
