Boost numbers

Can anyone tell me what i should be seeing for boost numbers on my truck with the few mods i have done to it. Right now i am seeing 21 to 22 as the max numbers. Does this sound right, or is it to high or to low, thanks

Id say your boost is probably about right. Sounds maybe just a tad low to me, but i dont really know much about how those mods are supposed to affect boost. They are supposed to hit about 20 stock, but modded should be more.

38 psi with a big pump, 10 plate, and 370's Whoa! I must have my plate WAAAAYYY forward in my little pump, I'm seeing 40-42 psi.

Do you have you're wastegate set to open there?

I'm just thinkin' I must be pourin' an awful lot of fuel at that little ol' charger, and DEFINATELY need a bigger one.

I'm with you on the black stream behind you though

Chris

CTD2001 has a 24 valve (he's in the wrong forum) the only way to increase his boost is electronically or it will set an overboost code.

Your truck has a hy 35 turbo you can't change the boost elbow it is hardpiped I'm gonnna say a dirty word but you can get a jet kit for your hy 35 that will modify waste gate from Banks that is about the only use for them I have found. You unbolt your wastegate actuator drill small hole in black hardpipe and insert jet into the end of piping re insert pipe back into actuator this will bring your boost levels up to about 30lbs plenty for your application but do keep in mind any further modifications injectors, power modules, secondary fuels etc you will need to upgrade your turbo yours only has a 9 cm housing I believe and further modifications will only increase your egt's to a unmanageable and melting level of 1600F contact me if you need more help

i had posted a forum in the 12v discussion about boost numbers, but i have a 24v, anyways i was wondering what boost numbers you guys are seeing with similar trucks. I am seeing about 21,22 psi, i can get to those numbers quick, but then it just stops. Does this sound right? How can i can a little more boost out of it? Thanks for you help

sounds right on if you don't have a wastegate modification.... you'll need a turnbuckle/j-hook/or similar mod to get your turbo to spool higher.

I do believe you will need a boost fooler and a boost elbow to get more than ~22 psi. Anything over that sets an overboost code.

Oh yeah signature600 use to get near 50 but moved the plate back and reset boost elbow. I haven't update signature for a while but 50 was tooo much because I do alot of towing. Have good power now with setup no egt issues and will not blow the head through the hood.
