Every time i get done posting I remember another question I have.

I put in a #10 plate earlier this summer, set it where I wanted it, definately feel the gains.
But, I was in a hurry and didnt put the elbow on, Does this part account for any more performance gains?

I know i should get back in and put it on simply because it came with it, But Id also like an ieas.

Ya it will raise your boost psi. A good rule is any time you add fuel you need to add more air to burn it.

 

I put my plate in and put the elbow in, then I ended up take thaking the elbow out and just blocked the waste gate, made a big differance on the top end.

 

what did it do to your bottom end when it was plugged?
Im kind of partial to the dually burnouts, so i wouldnt want to loose it all down there.

 

You don't want to plug off your wastegate. The wastegate is designed originally to limit emissions by limiiting turbo boost and by doing that you can limit fuel. However, why you don't want to plug the wastegate is because you then allow for unlimited turbo boost and then unlimited turbo rpm. This can cause the turbo to either break the shaft or blow apart which is a bad thing and can cost a new motor. What you can do is adjust your stock wastegate to about 26 psi. You can push those turbos to 28 psi but I would play it safe by keeping it low. The way that you adjust the wastegate is take the e-clip off the wastegate, pull the actuator off of the shaft and screw the end piece IN about 2-21/2 turns after you loosen the two nuts holding the actuator on. Then you get shop air with a good regulator and put it all back together and put air to it. it should just start to move with the 26 psi. If not, adjust more, it is handy with 2 people.

 

It didn't change the bottom end. With the way mine is set up I get about 27 at full throtle up hill. The way I understand it the hx35 is good up till 35 pounds of boost, so if you don't over fuel it should be ok.

Please someone correct if I wrong.

 

I have the stock wastegate unhooked, been 180k miles and so far so good, and man does it move! My pump is cranked, but still stock fuel plate.
