Blue Chip FMS and Redline Boxes

So who all runs the FMS or the Redline box?? I know most of the big 24v pullers run them. They are very pricey, but then again my TST PM3 with digital remote was not exactly cheap, and I am not real crazy about it.....

The FMS and Redline seem to have lots of neat features and tons of adjustability too.

How is the update rate on the digital readout on it?? That is a serious flaw, in my opinion with the TST digital readout, the update is so slow is useless for anything except towing with long pulls... For playing with ricers and having fun banging gears it is way to slow to glance at in a hurry and get a reading thats not two seconds behind allready...

I have heard that the Redline Box is CRAZY aggressive and a few guys said forget about it on the street....

Whats the word around here??

I run the regular FMS system and set at 63% it is very aggressive. I love the adjustability of the unit and the pyro temp reading is very quick and very accurate. I am very pleased with the purchase of this unit.

Isn't the Redline box adjustable? Can't you turn it down or off for the street?

You can turn it down or off as well as the ability to do the same with the original FMS.
You can always buy the FMS and try it then have it updated to the Red Line at a latter date if you fill you need more fuel than the regular FMS can provide.

I thought they were different boxes. Is it just a software upgrade or are the guts changed?

Hummm, DD I see you have it stacked with a Comp... Why do you do this?? Do you have the timing part of the FMS turned of and use the comp for this???

I was told by Chip himself that it is a software flash that he can perform and change one from a regular unit to a RedLine. The reason I asked him is because shortly after I purchased my FMS I found out about the RedLine unit, so I called him on it and wanted to know why he did not sell me the RedLine unit. He told me that he does not recommend the RedLine for street use but if I had to have it, to just send my FMS unit in and he would flash it for a fee of coarse.

I had the Edge unit first. However it was not aggressive enough for my taste. I had two friends that had the FMS on their trucks and there was defiantly a difference between how aggressive it was compared to the Edge comp, more fuel faster, more boost sooner and lot’s more smoke. So I kept the Edge for timing and use the FMS for fuel. After all you can adjust the FMS for how wild you timing box is as well as chose a desired smoke level. Plus you can put it in race mode and it will crank everything it has to max and not de-fuel. O yeah did I mention you can set a desired de-fuel temp level, so once you hit the temp you program it will start to de-fuel for you.
