blew the boot to shreds

well i got a g tech meter this week and when i was trying to play with it i blew the lower right front boot. yea the expensive one. i think it should have held 60 psi just fine. well the hole is the size of my fist. and i am planing on reworking it to use a straight peice to make cheap replacements. so can any one tell me the size of the ic piping and what size the inlet to the ic is? or do i have to pull my truck apart and find out?

It will take quite abit of re-working i think , the inlet of the I/C is larger than the outlet of the pipe , I Will go out to the shop and meausure one of my stock boots that i saved and see if i can give you a rough guess.

Lower IC boots are 3" at the engine side and 3.5" at the IC side

just buy the updated one for $75 and dont worry about it. Sounds like your trying to make this harder than it is to save a few bucks...

but if i remake the pipe to 45 or so degrees and increase the diameter to 3.5 then i can put a boot on that cost me about 5 bucks.

I just went out and measured mine , inlet side of the boot is 3" and the outlet side appears to be around 3.75".

Crawl under your truck for a few seconds with a caliper and you should be able to get at the inlet tube of the intercooler to make sure , without taking anything apart.

Bingo. Just make sure it will clear the vertical radiator supports when you weld the 45 on the end. And that it's pointed the right direction.
