Black Smoke
Black Smoke
I was wondering what I can do about the excesive amount of black smoke my truck is producing? I just put DD2's injectors in it and I had a superchip on it but i took the chip off because it was way to much smoke. What is the deal how can I reduce the amount of smoke and still make more hp.
I don't know the specs on the DD2's, but are they more than a stock turbo can effectively cover? Perhaps it is time to upsize the turbo for more air. (Naturally, the previous posts are the best starting points A boost leak is cheaper to fix than upgrading turbos.) I am a bit underexperienced with injector-turbo relationships!
Does the smoke clear out when the turbo spools? And how much boost do you push?
Like they said first check for any boost leaks, and if there are none then maybe a boost elbow or boost fooler from BD, if theres still too much smoke then the only way to really would be a bigger turbo.!..
Personally i love the smoke and theres nothing wrong with it unless its still smokin when the turbo is spooled but if you dont feel the same way then thats the way to fix it.
