BHAF's and Bumpers.

Stopped by the local Cummins shop to get fuel filters.
Time for a change, figured I'd get two, one for a backup just in case.

$25.82 for 2 of them, $12.91 each, wonder what the dealer is charging for them these days?

Figured while I was there I'd pick up a replacement stock airbox filter, mine isn't pulling the filterminder down yet, but it is extremely black and grungy inside
(20,000 miles, more than a couple hundred on dusty dirt roads)
$19.40 for Fleetguard part number AF25541.
(again, wonder what the Dodge Dealer is charging these days, maybe oughta call and ask )

Heck, since I'm going there anyway, I got the part numbers for the Marine BHAF (AH19004)
and the standard BHAF (AH19037).
Asked the counter guy if they had the marine in stock, he said nope. (I'll have to try next time)
Asked if they had the standard BHAF in, he said y'up, one left.
He called back to the wharehouse and had them check, just in case, and it was still there,
$43.04 , hope it lasts a while.
Took it out of the box to have a look, and HOLY COW! that thing is HUGE.

Having a guy here at work who's handy with metal work fab me up a heat shield,
he said he's swamped but he'll get it done.

This weekend, if all goes well, I'll be changing the fuel filter
(not having heart failure this time, it WILL start right up afterward > ),
and maybe putting the stock airbox into storage with a nice spankin' new stock filter in it.
(just in case I ever need to put it back in :-X)

Ordering a pre filter (outerwears) for the BHAF tomorrow, now that I have the dimensions.

Oh, Layne from DOR called me a week and a half ago,
My Bumper Is Done! and ready for shipping.
Just waiting for a guy that makes a Salt Lake City to Grand Junction run once a week or so
to get back from vacation.
(saves me $150.00 shipping, and Layne doesn't have to crate it up)
Maybe I'll be installing my bumper this weekend as well 8) .

I know, I know, the Scotty II is the best out there.
I am currently unBOMBed and not keen on oiled filters.
That is why I chose the BHAF. Nuff Said!

(since this post contains the words BHAF and Bumper, it belongs in "high performance/aftermarket accessories" right? )
