Bhaf Installed

Got my bhaf installed last night after making up the heat shield. Need to wrap the edges with some edging yet and I think I will put some alumanized insulation one the sides but other than that it seems SWEET. I used the NAPA filter and my hose slid right on and being it's plastic it did not crush when tightening the clamp. instant mileage seemed to go from 16-17 prev. to 17-18 will see what it averages here in afew days also seems to have pepped it up some

Where is a good place to get the 4" down pipe from I think I will fabricate from there on back.

Are there many of you running your pipe out ahead of the rear wheel? I am just wondering it would be a lot easier to make if I did that. I still want it to sound tough and am wondering if this would lessen that?
Sorry about the long post I'm just pumped right now

Check the classifieds for a 4" down pipe.
(not mine, just saw it there this morning)

Sounds like problems I can deal with I could always reroute it if I wanted in the future.
Thanks for the advice!

I have drop in K+N filter. Is it really worth going to the BHAF on a stock truck? Will I notice a mileage increase from the BHAF over the high flow one I have now?

How much was your Napa filter? I had them look one up the other day for me, it was like 75 bucks. Seemed a little steep to me.

I had a K&N on for a couple weeks that my bud had given me and I still think the BHAF might be better it seems to pull a little harder in each gear. The filter I got for $64 but I get a pretty decent discount from NAPA I think it went for $72 normal price. Still compared to a complete intake system from anywhere you're looking at $230 unless you just drop in a diff. filter so in my feeble mind I guess it was worth it.

Sorry forgot to include from my prev post it looks like mileage may have bumped up a little from the K&N 16-17 K&N to 17-18 BHAF. Will watch and see what it averages

Well if I do anything, I'm going to buy the "combo" from www.rpmoutlet.com

They have a 4" turbo back exhaust and a K+N FIPK listed for 450. Don't know what shipping is, though. They also have gauge packages listed for 225 with 3 gauges and a triple pillar. Seems to be about the best prices I've found anywheres.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I am just on a tight budget and doing as much as I can on my own without shelling out a lot of cash so that I can get the Quadzilla Xillaraider box as soon as money allows. That is why i am looking to buy the 4'' down pipe and fabricating the rest of my 4" exhaust myself which is my next project. There's something about going from a 94 gasser to the ctd that makes the power addicting. I think most anything you can find is better than stock. It is just what you and your truck prefer. Good Luck!

I'd make my own exhaust, but I don't know how to weld. I have two welders, though. Go figure
