Better gas mileage with more power

I currently have a 2001 Dodge CTD. I love the truck, but not the gas mileage. I am looking to get better gas mileage along with more power. I installed the super chip and was not happy. I have been looking at the "EDGE" box and have heard some good things about it. I was wondering what everyone else thought. Currently I am getting 13-15 mpg. I am open to any suggestions.

Pump up the tires to the max, run a good fuel additive for a couple of tanks, check the LP psi., change air filter, check for boost leaks, check for leaky for wastegate and quit hod rodding!!

Get gauges!!!

With 275 injectors and a comp I was knocking down 20mpg on the highway. I'm lifted 4.5" on 35's.

Get a Van Aaken box, or edge ez to begin with(check on classifieds), as they will give you a nice increase in power, and some better mileage, and add fuel lubricity additive every tankfull.

13-15 is good mileage, try that with a 3/4 ton gasser, more power means more fuel!
An Edge EZ and a light foot will get the best possible.

injectors

Do have the injectors tested for they are probably in poor or bad shape.

mileage doesn't sound right, more info on your truck please? transmission?? rear gear ratio?? 2wd/4wd??

I get better mileage than that in stop and go traffic laying a thick, black cloud.... and I'm far from stock.

Auto & 410's are not helping. Also this time of year your stuck with blended winter diesel fuel .... which many say costs 1+ mpg. (I can't say for sure cause we don't have to deal with that down here).
Big difference between 13 and 15 mpg. If you can do the 15 now... i'd say it's about right. Stock, I was just over 16 mpg in the warmer weather.

Edge EZ or VA box should help. MAybe bigger tires to "stretch" gears?

Good luck (and welcome to the site).

You want to swap your 4:10s for my 3:55s? (complete axle assemblies)

If your truck has rear disc brakes, and you have tools and a place to do the swap, I'll make the drive.

I would try a van Aaken box. I have seen a better gain with them compared to the Edge and they are also cheaper.

I'm getting 15mpg with my 38's running stock 3.54 gears................them suckers are getting changed QUICK!!! But with 4.10's and an auto I'd think you were about normal around 15mpg, especially with this winter fuel. Mine dropped a lot from fall to winter because of the changes in fuel
