Best Shift Kit??

So who makes the "best" shift kit and where is the best place to find one? Also, are there any negative effects on the tranny or TC? Just been thinking about them lately. Thanks in advance, George

My tranny is holding my abuse nicely with a Transgo shift kit with a Mojave green converter.. 13 hooks at the truck pulls and some drag racing.

I'm running a SMR shift kit. It's been holding the 275's and Mad Ecm nicely. Off the top of my head I can't think of any downsides to a shift kit. A shift kits is designed to make the trans shift better and increase the holding capasity of the clutches, more line pressure. Too much line pressure can be bad, but these shift kit have been tested so you shouldn't have a problem.

The SMR kit does more than improves the shift, I love mine!

It was $185 to my door step from www.smrtrans.com. Has several springs, and valves with a good set of instructions.

I think I was the first SMR guy-Still love it, I have been fine tuning it lately and WOW, nice piece!! Call Pat-his info is below, I will admit that his kit is a bit more money but I think it is worth it. Depending on the year of the truck it runs about 165.00 bucks. I have installed a bunch of these for guys now and have installed some of the "others" out there, this one is my favorite. and no I do not work for or have any affiliation with Pat and SMR.

There web site seems to be more "race" torqueflight oriented than 47RE/RH. Did they have more info when you called them that they didn't have on their web site? I have a 47re in the garage I'm going to start playing with, but am still researching the kits out there. I've even entertained the idea of giving one of the "mohave green" torque converters a try.

In the kit, there are tuning options, Street, heavy duty, or race.
