Passenger side of the engine, towards the front.

Lots of metal lines going to and from it.

(snickering on the inside)

Could someone please elaborate on the needle valve and maybe a picture. What is the general idea if the line burst the needle valve closes cutting the fuel off to the cab?

Thanks Steve

Here's one installed on a '99.

Its the brass thingy right on top of the fuel filter cannister top.

It doesn't close itself off, but if you do spring a leak at the guage, you can close off flow manually.
It also serves as a snubber.
You close it completely, then open it just enough that the guage registers.

Here's one installed on a 2001.5 (same setup you'd use)

It goes on the bottom of the fuel filter.

Well, the valve does not close itself...that would be up to you. The needle valve mainly acts as a pressure snubber of sort and dampens the pulses from the lift pump and VP-44....as well, it will allow you to shut off the flow to the guage and still run the truck (if the guage takes a dump).

The above pic of the '01.5 is on my truck before I put the FASSII on. It's essentially still the same setup, but no more bajo bolts. The line going to the gauge screws into a 90* fitting that has a tapped hole in it.
I used 1/4" ID 300psi rated hydraulic hose from NAPA (overkill) for the gauge hose, and got all the hardware from there too. btw, I think I used 7' of hose.
More pics in the gallery....
