Best fuel box or programmer for a 99...

Hey fellas, been away from second gens for awhile now. My last one was a 2001 and 6 speed with the edge ez. Anyway a good friend of mine just picked up a mint 99 auto quad cab 4x4 24 valve and i was wondering what was the preferred method for adding a little extra fuel was these days. Not looking for something as gnarley as the smarty, maybe something more in the way of a programmer that adds and extra 50-60hp. Thanks!

EZ and RV275's has made a lot of difference in my '99. Last dyno = 304 hp, 718 on the torque and avg 19 mpg + overall.

THe RV275s and the 300 are the same injectors, right? I seem to remember that some vendors just call them 300 because it sounds like theirs are better than the ones the other guy has...

Yes, 300's are the same as 275's. I wouldn't use them though as they aren't that great.

I'd use a Smarty or an EZ.

Get the Edge Comp, tap the wire when you are ready. For injectors I would get a set of Mach 1.6s from Don Morrison, www.f1diesel.com. HTH.

There are a lot of ways to go, I just happen to like my setup for my needs.

I would recommend the Juice with Attitude, its a few more horse then you would like, but I has alot of features with it, its not too expensive either.

Smarty is A-1..... but it's hard to pass up the EZ when they are selling for such great prices in the Classified Section.
Still a great starter kit!
And with 275 injectors, you get great mileage bump, as long as your not going to want more later.
May, however, over tax the tranny?

I have an 02 auto/3.55 truck that I use to pull a 33', 9000# RV with. I run an Edge EZ, and am thinking about adding 275s. I currently peak at 1350* on long hills, and usually run 1000 - 1100* pulling on the flats. How much will adding 275s raise my EGTs? Will they make towing impossible due to too high EGTs?
