Best Box for 2001 HO

I would like to hear anyones experiences with timing/fueling boxes
on a 2001 HO engine. I was looking at the Edge EZ and then read
that the HO engine does'nt like the aggressive timing. Then I was
going to the Diesel Dynamics True Torque Module that is supposed to
be programmed for less timing for the HO engine. Now I see the
Quadzilla box that has the ability to adjust power in the cab
off,35 hp,70 hp. I am installing a 4" exhaust this weekend and
will have some type of BHAF. I tow a 6000# TT. Any Advice ?

Yeah, because I want to know too.

P.S.-What about the Van Aaken boxes?

Keep me informed as well, I want to know what you come up with. I was thinking the edge comp or the tst power max 3. I will be getting gauges soon so if I go with the tst it comes with gauges. I would like to get something ajustable and I can turn off to keep myself in check. I don't tow with the truck much so that is not really a problem for me and if I do tow I can just turn it off in the worst case.

I would run the EZ if you don’t want to run exhaust and intake. BUT if you do...Comp hands down. Just upgrade your fueling system with a good pusher pump….FASS or equivalent. ALSO……GAUGES GAUGES GAUGES! Then you should be all set up for some fun! Never had any probs with an EZ on a HO.

Guys

I don't have an HO, but have followed the threads regarding them for some time.
Here are comments from a knowledgable HO owner......."I have an EZ on an HO and it's fine. Then again, I almost never tow.
In general, I consider the timing of the EZ to be a little too much for the HO. This is noticeable if you hook into a heavy load.
I'd urge an HO owner to look into the Diesel Dynamics versions of the EZ and/or Comp: the True Torque Power Module and Ultimate Fueling Module, respectively.
Diesel Dynamics has dialed in these boxes and they are more refined than the Edge units out of the box."

The very few Dodge Cummins that have blown engines (and not racing) seem to have been towing (and not all that heavy) with HO engines and EZ's.
You asked about the BEST box for an HO....Edge can work well but I would go with something else.

I have the TST PM3 Comp. w/adjustable remote, and currently it's not working. I'm going to check voltage on the 9-pin today and the fuse/fuse holder. The lights on the box indicate it's working except the fueling (green) light never comes on. Mark @TST thinks the box may be bad if the voltage between 5 & 9 pin is present.
Anyway check out this thread......some good opinions & personal experience.

Oh btw shawn085, you can get the TST with the digital gauge readout, but it does not just come with them....costs extra $$$. imho I would vote against digital gauges anyway

IMHO
For everyday driving around and playing, get the CaTCHer - even with stock injectors. That will last you the longest before you'll feel the need to BOMB again. What clutch do you have now? Stock? That won't last with the CaTCHer, but it usually does with and EZ.

After the RFF wears down and you feel the need for MO POWER, add injectors.
Finally on the HO, add a non-timing fueling box, and you haven't wasted any money on the base upgrades getting to the fueling box.

Air intake, exhaust, and turbo upgrade all fit in there before the injectors. Again, JMHO, but better to be ready for the heat than not.
