I love mine! Mine is a version from a different vendor but it's a copy of BD's exactly.

It takes a day or so to get used to but it is more than worth the money. Just bear in mind, you have a truck trans, it will only shift so fast but having a shorter throw does make a difference.

My 24v has it, my 12v does not, and it throws you off a bit when you go from truck to truck. I liked it a lot better when it was with a single disc clutch. My dual disc shifts slower and takes a bit of force to get into some gears. Shorter throw means more force. That being said, I'm planning on getting on for the 12v in a couple weeks.

Not having a shortshift to compare to, do any of you think it's possible to modify the stock shifer to make it more like the shortshift? What would it entail?

I like my short shift for my 6 speed. I really notice it when it is not there--driving my friend's truck for example with standard shift throws.

I'm used to now, but I've debated pulling it out. My opinion is you can spend your money better in other places. I wouldn't do it again.

i had one(bd i think) gave to me by a friend, i had it for about a month and cussed it everytime i shifted, i can row the gears a lot faster with my standard throw shifter....needless to say i passed it on down the line. if i had it longer i may of gotten use to it but IMO its money better spent elsewear. you may love it, try to find one in somebody elese truck to try fist
