BD R.A.D. again....

Here's the situation. on my 01.5' since i have gone to an hx40 from hx35 I cannot build any boost to launch. truck will not go past 1400-1500 RPM no matter what i do. I swapped to some bigger injectors hoping that would i woul dbe able to build some boost but no go. I know the BD RAD is suppost to help with this but from what i have heard in reading old posts most of the people could still build some boost but it would limit it. Is the HX40 just amplifying it. Since i need even more fuel to spool it?

Also... i'm probably going to get one ordered but how many wires do you cut into. Not in a big hurry to hack into some serious wiring. Maybe one of you guys that have installed in could give me an idea of what it takes.

Some trucks seem worse than others on the defueling. Some will still build over 10 and take off decently (but with a slight dip in acceleration) while others won't build any and won't shift 1-2 at WOT. For the RAD install the box needs power & ground, and you splice into the Vechicle Speed Sensor (VSS) wire (white w/ orange stripe) and the Torque Management Wire (white w/ black stripe) You basically cut both wires in half and hook the RAD box to both sides of the cut on both wires. It just switches off (cuts) the VSS to go over 115 mph (orange mode), and it modifies the torque signal for hard launches (red mode... also kills the tach). They definitely work as advertised!!

Well got the BD R.A.D. installed and not much difference. After i got it in i was trying to do some launches and finally could get it to spool but i had to hold it for a good 20 seconds or so to get it to build any boost. This heats up the tranny fluid in a hurry. Because of the tranny temp issue i think it takes way to long to work at the track. Could this be in the transmission? I have the tightest TC that suncoast makes and the internals are all stock. Could i be slipping my 1st gear clutches inside the transsmission?

Is your tach falling to zero before you're trying to build boost? After you switch it to red you have to wait about 5 seconds and then the tach will fall away and the engine note will change. After that you're in "race mode" and should have free reign to build as much boost as your tranny will allow. I'm not sure on your tranny setup, but on my old ATS & dad's ATS truck I get about 15 lbs at about 1500 rpms with the brakes locked.

Got it figured out... just needed to pull my head out... and feather the throttle into it instead of just wide open. spools up good. launch's awesome at 20LB of boost
