BD-Power Auxiliary Lift Pump Kit - Install Question

I bought the "BD-Power Dodge Lift Pump Kit (Auxiliary)" from xtremediesel #BD1050226 and started installing it last night. The pump is activated by a oil pressure switch which is installed into a oil port in the side of the block (just under and behind the injection pump). Anyways you remove this plug using a 5mm allen and install the supplied 'O-ring to NPT' adapter fitting and then the pressure switch into the NPT side of the fitting. Anyways this O-ring adapter comes with an o-ring and a seperate thin steel washer. But in the install direction it says:

11. Remove the o-ring boss plug (5mm Allen head) from the driver side of the engine, behind the power steering pump and install the pressure switch with the “O-ring to NPT” adapter. Make sure to use liquid pipe sealant or Teflon tape on the switch to adapter and use the metal rubber composite seal on the adapter to the engine.
I read that as I'm suppose to use the supplied composite rubber/metal washer which looks like a fuel line washer for a banjo fitting on the o-ring adapter.

So my question is do you:

a) remove the o-ring/washer and just use the composite rubber/metal washer on the adapter or

b) are you suppose to double stack them and use both??
