battery relocation

Well I got my parts put together for my planned intake and it looks like the only way I'll get it to fit is to relocate the passenger side battery. What would be involved in relocation? What's the normal solution for guys building compunds?

I put my truck on one Exide gell pack battery back in 03, no problems yet. Without checking, I think it's 950 or 1000 cca's.

Where do you want to relocate it too?

If it's going to be any distance (say to the bed) use HUGE cable. 0/1g welding cable works great and is well shielded. Also, if you move the batt that far ground it with a big braided strap. As well replace the grounding cable from the alternator with 0/1g as well to prevent charging issues.

Depending on how it's setup you may need/want to change how the starter is wired.

I'm thinking it'd be easier to switch to a good single battery like an odyssey, but what do you do with the old terminals and the other wires?

Stay with dual BIG batteries. You can get all the air you will need without moving that battery out of there.
