bad egt probe???

with all this talk about gages and mainly EGT's hitting 1300-1500* with mildly tuned trucks it has got me wondering, is my autometer egt probe giving me a bad reading because i have never seen over 1150* more then once or twice and with my mods and my stock turbo it seems that i should be able to dang near peg the 1600* pyro

I have the same issue, I don't beat mine bad, but still I can't get it over 1300* even with the trailer. Even if I drive hard. WOT from third gear to 75 nets me about 900* I don't know if my timing could help that much... I am starting to loose faith in mine because it take so long to warm up/respond.

I replaced the whople thing, still no real change. I think it may be a little better, but not much, if any.

Pre Turbo, located according to the TST instructions. Not touching the divider, or bottoming out...

I have Isspro gauges, and my pyrometer responds almost immediately. After I start the engine, in less than about two seconds it reads 250-300. If I floor it, it follows the tach right up there to about 11-1200. A few weeks ago I saw a thread about Autometer getting a bad batch of probes, did you just install your gauge?

DT,
Just ordered a new probe, amp, and gauge. We'll see what happens.
