B1 and mach 4's installed
i finally got the B1 and Don M's mach 4's installed and went for a drive yesterday and all i can say is WOW!WOW! Don's edm's are so much smoother for all around driving. i previously had dd 3's and these things are so much smoother. idle and running both. my truck is like a totally different truck. i just wanted to post this and say thanks to everyone involved with this site as i get so much info. from here and it is great. i would like to say thanks to rod(wildcat diesel) for everything, and kurt yardley for fixing the used B1 i had purchased, and to Don M for making the best injector that i have had any dealings with. thanks to all and have a happy new year!!!! i'm attaching a pic of what took so long to get everything going. i've had the injectors for about a month waiting to get done polishing so i could install.
my boost gauge only is a 50# gauge and with the pm3 comp on 2 i can peg it. so i don't really know. i have been just rolling into the throttle and not just stomping it. i would like to drive it a little while before having to pull the head. i have been trying to keep it around 40#'s and then shifting. i'm having lots of fun, but i'm telling you, you need to try some of Don's injectors, you wouldn't believe the difference. you can't really explain it. if you get down here in ky. some time or if i get up your way give me a holler and i would be glad to let you try it out.
SB,
Begin to save cash for a head gasket riggin' The HO's will pop easier with the big turbos and injectors VS the SO's.
I have your pop pressure just where it should be for maximum performance with your HO pump.
The B-1 will live a long life even with healthy doses of #2 from the 4's
Keep me posted on results as time goes by.

for every BOMB comes more money for a repair of something else.
oh, but for the love of a 7500# daily driver out running sports cars from time to time it is worth every penny.

Exactly how much boost can a SO take then a HO?
There is no "set" number. Some trucks puke the gaskets at 40 PSI. Some go to 70 plus.
The HO's just have the higher static number so they always seem to go easier. The fast and sharp discharge of the fuel curve in the HO does not help PEAK pressures either. Peak pressure is the largest factor in headgasket failure if everything else is right.
