auto trans help

want to add lucus to the trans fluid, checked origanl fluid and its over filled, which could be the problem in the first place, is there any way to just drain off the excess and enoff to ad the lucus without pulling the pan and draining all of it?

You could just loosen the pan bolts a little bit and slide a syphon hose in one corner. Just a thought but it might work?

It depends how much the pan is over filled. It can still be overfilled according to the dip-stick, however most of the fluid will still be in the pan. You will probably still get some oil coming out if you loosen the bolts, but unless your tranny is very over filled, most should still stay in the pan.

they make "syphins" (sorry spelling may be wrong) all you have to do is stick the tube down through the tranny fill tube and it will suck as much out as you want. just look on line they cant be more the 30 bucks.

When are you checking the dip stick? The owners manual recommends checking while engine running and the trans warm, in neutral. Not park. I don't know what's the big difference but when i have checked mine in the past having it in Park reads much higher on the dip stick apposed to neutral. So you may not be overfilled.

you'd be better off, yanking off that pan, adjusting your bands and refilling with ATF4. while your at it, install a drain plug kit.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Siphon works well. Doubt that snake oil will do much good. Service trans is recomended. Fresh filter, bands adjusted, fresh atf+4, linkage adjust may be a better ticket.
