Thumbs up ATS Manifold

Just put an ATS exhaust manifold on. What a nice piece, this is the manifold that should have came on the Cummins stock. Way more meat on it than the stock piece. My manifold was cracking and a stock replacement was almost the same price, money well spent if you need to replace your stock one IMHO.

After I installed mine, I noticed a little better spool-up and a little quicker cool off. Stock trucks won't benefit as muck as modded trucks will.
It is a great piece and should be on every truck.

DRD,
How much are those ATS manifolds running now? Is that the 3 piece one? Oh and what effect does it have on EGT temps? Scott

They run about 450 USD, it is the 3 piece. I noticed maybe 50F lower EGT but I also changed some intercooler boots at the same time, I think the boots had more of effect than the manifold. I changed mine more to get rid of the broken stocker than for anything else. Like I said, way better manifold than the stocker.

I read some post on the other website about people having trouble keeping the bolts tight. Anyone have similar trouble?
I think I might put the stock bolts back in on the end pieces with spacers and locks.

I have had 2 ATS manifolds on 2 trucks and think a lot of them. On the 12-valve truck I got though I am considering the DPU exhaust header (Diesel Performance Unlimited) but he kit is quite spendy. . . $750.

I've installed several and never had a problem. You should check the bolts a few times the first thousand miles just to be sure.

Know the thread you're talking about, I think the fellow was making too much out of it. Seemed like he ended up spending more on fancy bolts than the manifold itself...
