ATS five star torque converter?

Why is it a five star? Are these a triple disk? How do you tell stall speed if you dont know and not buying from a dealer? There are numbers on the side but ATS doesnt know what they mean, I called. Is it bad to run a triple disk in a truck that is a daily driver? Need some help here. Thanks.

I've got one in an 01, it doesn't seem any different than the 4 disk convertors in my other trucks. I'm just starting to hot rod it some with decent injectors and the drag comp off of my wifes truck and a b1-b2 twins that we just got on.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the billet convertors from the name brand companies out there. You will notice a big difference from the stock convertor.

A shop in mid Mo. builds hot rod convertors for gas and diesels. He builds his own billet stators for them. I have had good luck with the transmissions and convertors from him.
On the single turbo truck of my wifes the convertor hooks up nice, on the twin 97 its a litle loose in the upper boost runs. The ats is the same way, with the single little hy it pulled like crazy, since I have put the b1-b2 on it and mach 6's I can stall it out quite a bit more.
I would like to find a convertor that is real tight on the upper end to hold the extra torque the higher boost levels.

I had a single disk in the 97 and could push threw the lockup with a 180 pump 0 plate 370 injectors and stock hx40. With the multidisk it can be locked up at full boost with no problems.
I know it's more money but put the right convertor in first to save money and headaches down the road. Take it from someone who has licked the dog several times in the past.
I see you are wanting a 5in. exhaust, I'm putting one on the 01 today. I went to a truck shop and got everything I needed for around 175 dollars to do it. If you can do any fab work it will be alot cheaper than the prefab stuff.
