$4.95 each, wow thats not to bad! lol I didn't use any type of gasket sealer on the block but I have heard of some people using super high heat liquid copper sealent spread very thin over the block nice and even.

Although that is a 24v head all the bolts correlate with the 12v and that is the sequence you want.

I would do 25, 45, 65, 80, 95, 105, 115, 125 in those incriments on the first torque (putting the head on). And then go in 5lb incriments after resetting them to 125 to what you want (I did 135lb) and take a break after each complete sequence.

All the holes are blind, no sealant is needed.

Hmm.. 26 bolts at 4.95... 128 bucks. Maybe I should try to buy them all seperate. Talk about retail markup.

My washers and nutz are good....... Hey I need some info on 60 lb valve springs. I am not sure if my last shop actually installed the 60 lb'ers or not. The machine shop asked for the spring pressure at installed height? Any help on this?

Wow I don't have much of a clue on that one, you can somewhat identify 60lb valve springs because when installed they look like they "bulge" because the outside of them does not go straight down from the retainer like a set of stock springs do. Also they are longer when unistalled than stock springs. I will give Joe Hellmann a call in the morning and see if he can tell me the required spring pressure, that is if no one has the answer by then.

Elandon, was your truck an HO or SO from the factory.

HRVP plus HOT Juice and big sticks equals a lot of timing. If your truck was an HO to begin with, that adds even more pressure to the HG and even more chance for leaks. What PSI was the silver gated to?

Using calipers I measured stock 40lb spring wire thickness of .1845, and the wire thickness of the 60 lb spring of .188

The other was of visually looking at them. The 40 lb spring is the same diameter as the top retainer, where the 60 lb spring bulges out a bigger diameter than the top retainer.

Sounds like some of you could use a new Head gasket. I have a 24V cometic Gasket that I am trying to get rid of. PM me if you are interested. It is brand new and I will sell it for 200 plus shipping
