I have a set of regular head studs in my truck. How far are you
taking them when it comes to torque them down? I have them to 130ft.pds.....

 

I think I torqued mine to 130 also I just checked them and still at 130 ft lbs.

 

Ive heard of people taking them to 150, I just dont want to blow another head gasket and not sure if i should go tighter on the torque

 

the factory mls head gasket is good but if you are that worried about it pull the head have it o-ringed and put a marine 12 valve head gasket in and not worry about it

 

The thing is, if you torque it too much, you can distort the head/block. When that happens, it can cause the cylinders to get out of round, and cause poor cylinder sealing. Don't try and re-invent teh wheel. Do as everyone else is doing (that are not having any problems anyways)
